MD, PHD from the British Columbia Cancer Agency

Dr. Johnson completed her training at McGill University as a Hematologist and Oncologist. Having recently returned to Montreal from her five-year research training at the British Columbia Cancer Agency in Vancouver, , Dr. Johnson's research focuses on determining the genetic abnormalities that are associated with a poor response to chemotherapy in lymphoma,, especially in adolescent and young adults patients.
Personalized cancer treatment for young adults:
The Segal Cancer Center (SCC) has acquired a state-of the art flow cytometer, capable of studying >10 different parameters in cancer cells simultaneously. This much needed upgrade has transformed the current flow cytometry unit into a world-class facility, that will be available to all the researchers within the SCC . This technological advancement will allow Dr. Johnson to develop a clinical test that could be used to predict a patient’s response to conventional and novel therapy in lymphoma at the time of diagnosis or relapse, thus paving the way to personalized cancer care.
